Croílár
A gentle task and note companion for restless minds. Quests and rituals instead of tasks and deadlines, and a world shaped by the small things you choose to do.
Teallach Studios is a one-person studio in Ireland. Teallach is the Irish word for hearth: the place a house is built around. A house is shaped to fit the people in it, not the people to fit the house. We build software the same way. That is the whole idea.
A gentle task and note companion for restless minds. Quests and rituals instead of tasks and deadlines, and a world shaped by the small things you choose to do.
Software about looking after yourself should never punish you for being who you are. No streak you can break, no red banner, no guilt built in to keep you coming back. It works around your rhythms, whatever pace they run at.
Local-first by default. Croílár has no account or app server, and your quests and notes stay on your phone. Its internet access is only for optional purchases through Google Play. No analytics, no tracking, and no quiet change of purpose.
No subscription traps, no ads, no feature you already had moving behind a paywall. The cosmetic catalogue may change during closed beta; beta testers keep what was free to them and anything they bought. From the main release onward, free means free for good.
There is no team, and no one to answer to but the people using it. You can email a human, and the human will be the one who wrote it. (I say “we” when it is just me. My brain won’t sign for sole responsibility, so I give it an out.)
Questions, bug reports, or a note about something that could be kinder. All welcome, and all read by the person who made it.
